Greetings from Michigan!
We are daily reminded of our personal need for God as well as our country's great need for God. We only have to read the news to see the desperate condition of our country. And we only have to visit our churches to see our great need to return to our first love, Jesus Christ. However, we are encouraged as we see testimonies of God's work through the various outreaches of Life Action Ministries. One such glimpse is from a Summit one of our teams recently conducted:
A few days before the summit, I was faced with my wife and four children leaving me because of my anger and control problems. During the first week of the summit, I was convicted of sin in my life every night. On Friday of that week, God said to me, "You have given your life in service to me, but you have never given me all of you."
I thought I had been saved at 7, and then rededicated at 21. I had even surrendered for fulltime ministry at 23. But, on Sunday, I was confronted with the fact that I had all the head knowledge and had even been part of leading others to Christ, but in reality was controlled by the bondage of legalism, and my heart was far from Christ. I failed the salvation test.
One of the team members talked with me, and I surrendered to Jesus Christ at the age of 42. Praise the Lord!
This is why we serve with Life Action. It is our prayer that God will continue to send conviction and repentance to His church. We would not be able to serve here without the sacrifice so many of you make through your financial gifts. Thank you for your partnership with us as we serve God alongside you.
In the past couple of years, God has provided for our financial needs far more than we could ever ask or imagine. We are so thankful for each of you God has used to help meet those needs. As we look ahead to the end of 2009 and the beginning of a new year, we want to share with you how some of our needs are changing. One change is the coming addition of our new baby in December, which will obviously increase our expenses (but it is more than worth it!). We also need to replace a section of our roof and replace our gutters to fix some serious leaks we have been experiencing!
In light of that we are asking for you to prayerfully consider joining our monthly support team or sending a one time gift to help cover the cost of these projects. If you are able to give, you may give online by visiting https://www.lifeaction.org/donate/support-a-staff-member/ and select Salzman, Scott from the Staff member list. To give by check, you may mail your gift to the address listed below. For one times gifts, checks should be made out to Scott and Andrea Salzman (the gift will not be tax deductable). Monthly support should be made out to Life Action Ministries (and is tax deductible).
Because of Him,
Scott, Andrea, Luke, & Caleb
