Dear Friends and Family,
It is amazing how fast the months go, summer is almost over and fall is just around the corner! Here in Michigan things have been hopping. We just completed Revival Week, which is a week that Life Action's staff gets together corporately and seeks God to be refreshed, renewed and purified before the next conference year begins. This week we were blessed to have Bill Elliff speak to us. He was a part of Life Action several years ago and is currently one of the teaching pastors at Summit Church in Little Rock, AR. He is also on the board of directors of Life Action and God greatly used him to speak to our hearts.
Through him, God convicted me (Andrea) of not being completely surrendered to God concerning our finances. I realized that I was holding too tightly to the money that God has given us and wasn't willing to give as God was asking us to give. I have seen God faithfully provide for all of our needs in the past several months, in fact God has greatly blessed us beyond what we have needed, yet I was unwilling to trust Him completely and I was depending on our resources and not on Him.
God convicted Scott of becoming dependant upon his own strength and skills and the resources around him to complete projects that he needed to do instead of trusting in God to be his strength. In the past two months, God has grown the IT dept. from two full time guys and one part time guy to four full time guys and one part time guy which has been a tremendous blessing. However, Scott was finding that through this blessing he was taking his eyes off from God and placing them on himself and the people around him.
God has been so faithful to reveal our lack of dependence upon Him and point us back to Himself! Please be in prayer with us that we will take these things that God has shown us and be on guard against our own frailty in thinking that we can do what He has called us to do in our own strength. Please pray that we will be completely surrendered to Him in the area of our finances, and He would increase our faith and trust in Him.
Andrea's pregnancy is going well; the baby appears to be strong and healthy according to all the powerful kicking he does! We have had a fun time getting ready for him to arrive, fixing up his room and attempting to plan ahead for all the changes that will take place once he arrives.
Things have been going well at the National Ministry Center. The 32 team computers have been updated and now the IT dept is busy trying to work out the final bugs before the teams hit the road in November. Scott has also been working on getting wireless set up at the Retreat and Conference Center and almost all the bugs are worked out of that system, but there are a couple of persistent problems that continue to crop up and keep Scott hopping. Another project that Scott is attempting to complete before September is getting some of the teams equipped with wireless so that while they are on the road they will have easier access to the internet and e-mail. So needless to say, life is not boring!!
We want to thank you again for your faithful support and prayers; you are such a blessing to us! You are continually in our prayers and we thank God every time we remember you.
Because of Him,
Scott & Andrea (Shedd) Salzman :)
